... Unpredictable

Who wakes up in the morning to find on their to do list; sift through rolled oats, wipe poop off floor, and play with radishes? No one. Why on earth would you? I suppose the only person who I think would have this list is a mom, and moms, well we do all kinds of off the wall, unpredictable, crazy things.

My list of things to do today consisted of fairly reasonable tasks; get some writing done for the blog, finish some laundry left over from the weekend and get some gardening in. Naturally, my high hopes we brought low within the first hour of the day. While eating the morning oatmeal, HubbyK crunched down on a random piece of plastic. We had never had it happen before, but to make sure it wouldn't happen again, I dedicated my morning to sifting through the remainder of the bag. Strike one.

Strike two occurred shortly after changing BabyK's diaper. We were all finished cleaning up and I had grabbed the soiled cloth diaper to drop the contents in the toilet. Before I knew it, the little log rolled right out and plopped itself on my gleaming hardwood floor. It wouldn't have bothered me as much had this been the first occurrence (enter facepalm emoji).

My war on things to do was completely called off when BabyK saw the radishes on the counter. Not only did she desperately need to have them, but also insisted on my active involvement. So we spent 45mins putting the radishes out of her reach on the step so she could practice using the stairs. She even spent some time hiding them and throwing them. Although, it wasn't on my original list, we had a lot of fun.

I still love lists and the satisfaction of completing tasks, but there is something to be said for letting go of our plans and trusting when the time is right, what needs to be done will be finished. Sometimes I feel this way waiting for the global pandemic to be over. In my heart I know and believe that God could snuff out the virus with just a word. I know that He can inspire leaders to make wise decisions and scientists to have break throughs. Often, I wish for the quick way out, yet, He knows what's best for us. He has the full picture. Sometimes His to do list looks different than what I think it should.

Luke 1:45

"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!"
