... Saving Me Money

Nearing the end of the pregnancy I really didn't feel like doing much. My feet were sore, I needed naps every 4 hours and I felt like any moment my big-balloon-belly would float me up, up, up and away. This meant I was less inclined to spend days out in the local thrift stores and shopping malls like I had once indulged in days past; even the ever-convenient internet shopping was put on hold.
Not knowing BabyK's gender beforehand helped curb my natural instincts to purchase any and every adorable outfit I could find. Our bank account could rest at ease knowing her closet was not filling up with handsome suspenders nor pretty bows; and so could my husband.

Nowadays, with the global pandemic, there have not been many opportunities to shop in person either. In effort to avoid shipping delays, I have found myself getting a lot more creative in my ventures. To my delight, often the creative solutions are less expensive and a great excuse to exercise my love for DIY.
I know this won't always be the case. I've heard the statistics on how much a child will actually cost to raise but I can't help and wonder if all that money would have just been spent on other things anyway. At least spending it on BabyK means I have her to show for it, instead of a kitchen full of placemats (yes, I have a problem and we are working on it.)
At the end of the day, I am happy to rest in the knowledge that my God is our provider and He will supply everything we need. Yes, I still catch myself fantasizing about trips to Marshals and Home Sense but I also know that buying materials things will not bring me true joy either.
Philippians 4:19
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus"
