It's wild to think that we are approaching that time of year already. Although today is still only November, tomorrow will be December 1st. How quickly another year has passed! A year ago, BabyK was still not walking and we had already experienced our first big snowfall. COVID had cancelled all our Christmas plans, making the season still and quiet.

This year, I have to admit, I have already started to put up our Christmas decorations in anticipation for the big day. I have always been a huge fan of Christmas and all it brings. Yet this year we will be able to share that a little more with BabyK and it fills me with so much joy.
From classic carols and crooners' Christmas albums, to baking, to Christmas services and stockings; one of my favourite things has always been the lights. There is something so magical and comforting in the glow of Christmas lights as they brighten the shortening days and warm the cold nights. BabyK feels it too. Our neighbours have already set up their outdoor displays, and she can't get enough of the "pretty lights".
How fitting it is for the season we celebrate the Light of the world coming to earth. Jesus has done the same as these twinkle lights (and more) for my heart. When the world seems dark and hopeless, His love shines through and gives things meaning and purpose. I don't know if I would feel comfortable bringing a child into this world had I not the hope and assurance that she too could hold on to an everlasting light. Christ will be her Prince of Peace as He has been for me. What a beautiful, unmatchable gift!
John 12:46
"I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness."
