... A Circus

I am quickly discovering I have quite the performer on my hands. BabyK is always ready for a laugh, but most recently seems all the more ready to give them. One shouldn't be surprised. After knowing who her parents are, it would make sense for her to be a ham.
Just like the actual circus, not only are her "acts" entertaining, they can also be jaw-dropping, heart-stopping and unbelievable. Her most recent stunt would have made Houdini proud.

The day was just like any other day. BabyK had just awakened from her nap and the sound of her happy giggles floated down the stairway to my attentive ears. I joyfully sprang up the steps and opened the nursery door just as I always do. Before me sat a jolly little lady sitting up in her crib as usual. But wait. As I approached the scene it became evident that she was no longer in her sleep sack. I could see from it's new position (all bundles up and in the corner of her bed) that both snaps were open and yet the zipper intact. "Silly girl" I said with a chuckle as I turned to her once again. My chuckle was soon halted by the sound of my heart's last pound still ringing in my ears.
Not only had this cheeky girl escaped from her sleep sack, but she had also removed her diaper. It looked more like a water-wing floating on her little thunder thigh than a diaper. "Please no poop, please no poop" I chanted in my head as I slowly peeled back the diaper wings to peek inside. No such luck. There before me was a chocolatey smear both in the diaper and on the white crib sheet. In her defense, I wouldn't have wanted that against my bottom any longer either.
After the laugh was had, the home video made and clean up completed I sat back in wonder. These little guys sure have a way of surprising us. It's seems that anytime she does something new or comical, I am filled with and excited urge to tell everyone.
I get this same feeling about Jesus. Maybe you haven't noticed, but He seems to come up in these posts on a regular basis. For those of you that know me personally, you know that this isn't because I have a "soap box" personality. The truth just is, when you love someone, you want the world to know. When amazing things happen and your heart is filled, you need to share. You can't help it. It bubbles up within and spills over like a Mentos in a bottle of Coke.
Isaiah 38:19
"The living, the living--they praise You, as I am doing today; parents tell their children about Your faithfulness."
